A Skribbl.io Alternative with Video Chat Built In
skribbl.io is the game most people picture when they think "online drawing game", and it is genuinely good at what it does. The most common reason people look for an alternative is not the drawing — it is that skribbl has no voice or video, so every group ends up running a separate Discord or Zoom call alongside it. Poparty puts the drawing game and the video chat in the same room, and adds twelve other games you can switch to without anybody leaving.

What Poparty does differently
The single structural difference is that video and voice live inside the game room. In skribbl you are watching a canvas and reading a chat box; on a Poparty Scribble round you also see everyone's faces while they fail to work out what you have drawn. That changes the feel of the game more than any feature list suggests, and it removes the "wait, let me start a Discord call" step that kills momentum at the start of a session.
The second difference is switching cost. A Poparty room is not a Scribble room — it is a room. When the group tires of drawing, the host picks Trivia Royale or Wavelength or Silent Charades from the same lobby and nobody re-joins anything.
What skribbl.io still does better
Being fair about this matters. skribbl has a very large public-lobby population, so you can drop in and play with strangers at any hour — Poparty is built around private rooms with people you know, and has no public matchmaking. skribbl also has years of accumulated custom word lists and a community that has settled on its own conventions. If what you want is to play drawing games with strangers right now, skribbl is the better tool.
Who should switch
Groups who already hop on a call to play together. If your session currently means opening a game in one tab and a video call in another, Poparty collapses that into one link. It is also the better fit for remote teams and for family groups spread across time zones, where getting everyone into two pieces of software is the actual bottleneck.
