A Free Jackbox Alternative You Play in a Browser
Jackbox Party Packs are excellent, and they have two costs that send people looking for alternatives: you have to buy them, and somebody has to own the pack, run it, and share their screen for everyone else to see the game. Poparty is free, runs in a browser tab, and needs no host machine running anything special — the room itself is the game. If your group is remote, that removes the screen-share dependency entirely.

Closest equivalents, game by game
If your group's favourite Jackbox game is the bluffing trivia one, Fake It is the closest fit here — you write a convincing fake answer, everyone votes, and you score both for spotting the truth and for fooling people. If it is the drawing games, try Scribble or Telephone Drawing. If it is the "how well do you know each other" games, Most Likely To and Wavelength cover that ground. Trivia Royale covers straight quiz play.
What Jackbox still does better
Production value, plainly. Jackbox games have voice acting, original music, polished art direction and a decade of design refinement. They are commercial products and it shows. Poparty does not try to match that — it competes on being free, instant, and having the video call already in the room.
Why remote groups often prefer the browser version
The standard remote Jackbox setup is one person running the game and screen-sharing it over Zoom or Discord, with everyone else on their phones. That works, but it is fragile: the sharer's bandwidth becomes everyone's frame rate, audio sync drifts, and if the host drops, the session ends. In a browser-native game each player renders their own view locally, so there is no single point of failure and no video compression between you and the game.
